Have you ever heard of the Badlands Petrified Gardens? It’s really an interesting place. Everyone has heard of petrified wood before, but this is an entire forest and I can’t for the life of me figure out why. It must be from the lack of moisture in that area. Moisture is the biggest enemy of wood. Not only does is make the fibers separate, it also allows for mold to grow and the mold will digest the wood. Somehow this area had to be dry enough long enough for the area to petrify. It was probably the lack of moisture that killed the trees off in the first place.

Crude oil has been steadily rising over the last few years. This upward pressure on prices is due to many different economic and political factors. Some say that there is a built in premium of twenty to thirty dollars due to global uncertainty. I recently hired a mentor to help me improve my business and take it to the next level. The aim is to cut down on expenses, improve profits and free up the time to do other things with my life. Having someone that can objectively evaluate your business is a great idea. Sometime you just don’t see the obvious. Making some small changes can have a big effect on the way you go about your operations. One of the things that my mentor noticed was that I have too much money invested in stock. He suggested a new way to do my small business stock control. This will free up money that can be better allocated to other areas of the business.
