The definition of home equity is important to know, if you are thinking about taking out a second mortgage. It is an important calculation that will be a major factor in how much you can apply for, when looking at your new second mortgage. If you work out how much your home is worth if you sold it, then minus the amount of mortgage you have still owing, that should give you the amount of equity in your home. If it is a negative amount, then you will almost certainly be refused a second mortgage, unless you have a good credit history.

I really want my house to look nice, both during the day and at night. I am always looking for ways to improve things to make it look better. My latest idea is to install solar pathway lighting so that we will have some outdoor lighting. That way we will be able to see where we are going when we come home at night, without having to leave on electric lights and waste electricity. I think I will probably get the ones with motion sensors so the charge from the sun will last longer in case we have some days that aren’t too nice out.
