Bad Brewing Habits

I don’t really mind smelling coffee in the morning or hearing its beep when it’s done brewing.  My sister is a certified coffee addict and needs a fix first thing from her 4 cup coffee maker– like she does not have a cup or two before she goes to bed at night.  It helps her sleep, apparently.  Fine, I am okay with all that – noise, smell, whatever.  But what gets me is the mess I see that she leaves on the counter after brewing her coffee!  Like, she has this nasty habit of leaving the filter on the countertop and that leaves marks and unwanted visitors (a.k.a. ants).  It just makes me want to throw her machine out the window.

My Travel Nightmare

I had a nightmare last night and awoke trembling and in a dead sweat sometime around 3 AM.  Apparently, a masked men somewhat resembling the basic shape of Freddy Kreugger minus the hat and with the addition of a travel backpack was chasing me through downtown Manhattan.  As we ran past store front after store front, I could feel the menacing villain gaining on me with every passing bakery or 24-hour check cashing spot.  As we approached an open sewer hole I fell promptly jumped in, only to find myself in a bank straight out of the old West instead of the sewer I was expecting.  “Freddy” was there too only now, he was dressed in my grandmother’s wedding dress and holding a boquet of dead flowers.  As he approached me, I again felt a terror boiling up inside of me.  I then promptly woke up….such are the nature of nightmares!
