My daughter-in-law is getting ready to have my first grandson, and I would like to do something nice for her and my son. The house they are living in is older, and although they are slowly remodeling, they haven’t gotten to the nursery yet. I have an Ikea coupon, so I’m thinking about buying IKEA furniture and toys, and then having my husband help paint and decorate. I casually mentioned remodeling the nursery to her the other day, and she wistfully said “Oh, I wish we had the money for that!” Since I know that she would like it, my husband and I are going use the IKEA Coupon and have it remodeled while they are out of town next weekend, and surprise them when they get home. Thanks to the IKEA Coupon, my daughter-in-law will have a new nursery.

Studies have shown that not only is there a genetic link between generations of overweight people, but, weight problems can often be caused by children imitating their parents. In other words, if a daughter sees her mother eating the wrong foods, snacking out, overeating, then she will copy her. How often do you see mother and daughter (or father and son), walking along, both fat, or seriously obese? Is it coincidence that they look the same? Is it merely a genetic link that puts them in the same category? Possibly, but it could just be that the habits of the parents have been passed down to their children. And if the parents don’t do something about their obesity problems then the children are unlikely to either.
