When it comes to getting gifts for someone, I prefer to get gifts that lasts a lifetime, compared to perishable gifts. Examples, of perishable gifts are like fruits or chocolates where they will be consumed and after that forgotten. The same can be said about flowers as they will eventually wither and be thrown away. However, if I were to get a lasting gift item such as cufflinks or coffee table books, these items are quite likely to last for a lifetime. Cufflinks as gifts are also practical, in that the receiver can wear them and remember the occasion of the gift.

I was brought up on a diet of rice. We have to think twice in whatever things that we plan to buy because we didn’t have much money to spend. You do not need the best rice cookers to cook fluffy delicious rice that we all love. When there was not enough rice left for the family, mum would cook porridge to make sure we could still be full. Sometime, we can finish the white rice in our plate without any side dishes. I guess we are train to eat a lot of white rice and those are the day that we are easily content.

For a few months I had been tired, cranky and not feeling very much like myself. I chalked it up to stress since I had been recently promoted at my office and had more work, not to mention more responsibility on my shoulders. At my annual check up I mentioned this to my doctor. After a few tests and a sleep study it was determined I had sleep apnea. Cpap machines are often the answer to this problem and that was the case with me. It did take a bit to get used to sleeping with it but now I wake up refreshed and am more productive at work.
