Home Market Still Good in Military Towns

My family, while not in the military, is very lucky to live near a military base. We recently put our home on the market since we will be moving overseas in a few months. The way the market has bottomed out we were terrified that we would have trouble selling and that the whole family might not be able to make the move. But, within three weeks we had four different offers, all near our asking price, and all from buyers with pre-approved homeowner loans! With the base right here there is a constant influx of people. What an advantage – not to mention living near so many great folks!

They Get Real Life Experience

I like to take my kids on field trips to unlikely places. Everyone has done the old song and dance of the grocery store and a fast food restaurant. We go for the real interesting places. One of our recent trips was to the water treatment plant. They got to see exactly how it works and get a better understanding of the technology involved in keeping the city water clean and safe. They were especially fascinated with the huge water meter that tracked the flow into and out of the plant. They talked about the whole experience for weeks and can’t wait for our next outing.
