Getting free electric guitar lessons is only as far away as your local library. Many large metropolitan libraries, and even smaller ones, have vast media sections for your perusal. There are many audio tapes that teach about learning to play the guitar and these can be a great tool in helping you to learn notes and what they sound like. It is very important to have an ear that is trained to notes, as it will help you along the way in your learning process. Try tapes from different experts as you may find you really click with one teacher over another.
