Martina McBride For the Girls

As far as country music lyrics go, my favorites from Martina McBride are from “This One’s For The Girls”: “This is for all you girls about 25, in little apartments, just trying to get by, living on, on dreams and Spaghettios, wondering where your life is gonna go.” That describes right about where I was in my life over the past few years. The song is a happy-sounding one, though it can whimsically bring on bittersweet feelings out of any woman who can either remember from the past or relate in the present. It’s nice that there’s a song just about the experiences of “girls” whether they’re young, old, or in between.
