On fencing swords

I have studied the martial arts, and I have studied archery briefly and fencing very briefly, and I am truly fascinated with fencing. I don’t know why. Is my fascination with fencing some sort of past life thing? I have a similar fascination that I cannot explain with both feather (quill) pens and with nibbed fountain pens…and archery. But somehow, fencing reminds me of a time that seems to have been around the time of Shakespeare, and I wonder if it’s not that I was a writer or that fencing swords simply engage my imagination after seeing the likes of Eroll Flynn in movies.
