What to use for tattoo care in a pinch

April 21st, 2008

Tattoo care So, you have a new tattoo that is itchy and bothersome but you left the ointment at home.

Here are some things to use in a pinch.
First off wash it with warm soap and water.

Then apply any of the following;
Vaseline, chapstick, carmex, A & D ointment or lotion.
If you pick lotion, find one without scent as this will sting and irritate. A cocoa butter based lotion or one with shea butter is good too as they are both naturally healing ingredients.
Zinc ointment works too if it is not a heavy or thick cream.
