Is sway control required for towing?

There is no requirement in order to have a sway control system when you are towing because if you are good with weight distribution and you know how to load a trailer the correct way, this could cut down the trailer sway all by itself. Sway control systems are mainly used for people who want the extra safety and people who can not get the adjusted weight on their trailer properly. A Lot of people make sure they have it installed when they are taking long trips and there is going to be a lot of highway driving due to the faster speed and more wind pickup.
