Turning Algae into Oil?

Have you ever heard of turning algae into oil?  Well, apparently you can.  There are a bunch of researchers and scientists who are trying to make magical things happen when it comes to fuel efficiency as well as alternative fuel sources.  Oh, the things that people think of when it comes to saving money, but just how much money will actually be saved once this idea takes effect (if it ever does)? If you think that you had it bad with fuel costs and prices, take a look at Europe!  Our European neighbors are spending almost twice what we are spending in gasoline.  But when will it ever get better?  Even with the announcement of the hybrid vehicles over the years, people are still somewhat hesitant to jump on board because many feel that the technology is too new and there are too many "kinks" to be worked out.  Additionally, if something goes wrong with a hybrid vehicle, who is going to fix it?  Do most mechanics know about all of this new technology?
