Whenever I pick up my mother’s medication, I have the option to choose a less expensive prescription brand. I love bargains but I also love quality products. Some words and symbols for businesses are denied protection because they don’t distinguish their product from another firm’s product. A common descriptive name denoting only the name of a class or member of a class of things is a generic trademark. Legal protection for a generic trademark is usually denied. In a case such as this, it is extremely important to seek legal advice and research to find suitable options for your personal business configuration.
