Become a Freelance Paralegal
May 18th, 2009
Being your own boss means setting your own hours and working when you want to. This scenario sounds great, but there is a huge responsibility that comes with it. You are responsible for your own social security taxes and need to keep very detailed books of the taxes you owe. Also, health insurance, office supplies, and office equipment are all yours to pay for, and keep orderly. After receiving your paralegal education, carefully consider whether building up your own client base is something you have the time and money for. If so, it can be very rewarding, but it not, working for someone else is a great place to start.
