Does Anyone Know Anything About Personal Loans?

I have been going back and forth with the notion of getting a loan from a local bank. I think that getting personal loans right now would be best but I really don’t know much about them. I would really like to know a little bit more about them before I go into the local banks so I don’t look like a total idiot. So if anyone has any knowledge out there on these types of loans could you please fill me in. I would be very grateful for the help and soon because I think that I am going to start applying next week.
