Even so called free traffic has a cost – usually in time spent getting it. Actually, a lot of money is spent on getting natural search engine traffic – outsourcing links, site optimization, and other costs.

Some of the best traffic sources for your membership site are – natural search, article marketing, using videos, forum signatures and offers, and affiliate marketing.

PPC may be a good option depending on your skill, but it can get expensive. If you’re making a good return on your investment, then it’s still a valuable source of traffic. But don’t neglect the other methods of getting potential members. They may require a multi-step sales process, but if you can improve your conversion, these are valuable leads, and very cost effective.
