How to Do a Resume – Fonts for Success

April 15th, 2009

When you learned how to do a resume in school, you were probably told to use Times New Roman as a font for every resume. Times New Roman is a great font with high readability, but if you want to get your resume noticed, it is not the best choice. There are a variety of other fonts you can use that look professional and will also make your resume unique. Choosing how to do a resume’s font depends entirely on what type of job you are applying for.

When applying for a job in a financial field, there are certain fonts that will give that timeless and executive look to your resume. Some of these fonts are: Palatino, Goudy, Century Schoolbook, Bookman Old Style, Garamond, and Book Antiqua. These fonts, when used on a resume, will make yours unique from those of other applicants, and your resume will draw attention.
