Is Dredging an Effective Soil Remediation Process?

December 12th, 2011

Dredging is one of the many soil remediation services that can be used to purify the soil. It is usually performed in shallow salt or freshwater areas in order to get rid of the contaminants that are found in the soil. More often than not, this process is performed in order to make waterways more navigable. It is likewise performed to increase the capacity of shallow rivers to hold water so that flooding will be avoided. In some cases, this process is used to replenish sand on some beaches, especially if coastal erosion has caused them to lose much sand.
