Is there Bad Site Traffic?
April 15th, 2009
I was in an arguement with a fellow webmaster the other day. He told me that all traffic is good traffic. I disagreed. Here is why. Not all site traffic is convertable. If you have a very high bandwidth website with rich media in it, you don’t want autosurf traffic where the person is barely seeing the site. Why waste server resources and bandwidth when you are all but guaranteed that a visitor will not be purchasing your product or service? For exampel I had a ton of traffic from Stumble Upon. It crashed my server, didn;t create a single sale and prevented my targeted traffic from seeing my offers.
