Time management: See the big picture
February 14th, 2008
When it comes to effective time management it is essential to know exactly how you are spending your time now. This may seem like a strange idea but most people are surprised when they look at exactly how they spend their time. Keeping a time log is the best way to get an exact picture of how you really spend your time. Basically, all you need to do is write down in detail how you spend your time each day in blocks of, say, 15 minutes. This may sound tedious but it is well worth it and you don’t have to keep it up forever, a week or two is enough. Keep this up for a week or two and when you review your time-log you will see where your time is being spent effectively and where it is not. This will help you make the right choices about how to spend your time in the future.
