My husband and I are buying a home. We were prequalified for a certain amount. The house we wanted was more than what we were prequalified for. I thought we would have to find a cheaper house, but after we discussed it, we realized we could afford the house afterall. When put a bid in on the house. We bid the amount that we were prequalified for, but we asked that teh seller pay the closing costs. We got the bid. The seller agreed to the terms. We need twenty percent of the purchase price for our home loan down payment. We have that in our savings.
