Do you have acid reflux disease?

Do you have perpetual and consistent heartburn? You might have Acid Reflux Disease. Heartburn is that painful burning sensation in the esophagus. It has nothing to do with the heart, rather hydrochloric acid from the stomach, coming back up the esophagus because of an esophageal sphincter malfunctioning a little. When this happens a lot, and sometimes results in damage, it is labeled as Acid Reflux Disease. The esophageal sphincter that is malfunctioning or weak is misleadingly named the cardiac sphincter, even though it has nothing to do with the heart. This is because cardia means having to do with the stomach.
