How To Find A Successful Alcohol Treatment Program

March 3rd, 2009

Many alcoholics slip back into an undesirable lifestyle after finishing traditional alcohol treatment programs. While guilt may work to convince somebody that they need to quit drinking so that God, family, or friends are happy; guilt does not satisfy the individuals needs for happiness and feelings of self-worth. The programs that run on a guilt-based theory of motivation to make a person stop drinking are simply asking the alcoholic to work for others instead of addressing their own needs to feel satisfied with their personal lives. We are each given a life, and responsibility falls upon the individual to find their own road to daily happiness. The reality to the guilt-based alcohol addiction program is that some people do not like to work for others all day, and every day for the rest of their lives. There are outpatient alcohol treatment programs that promote individual hopes, dreams, and love have a much better success rate than those that only offer unpaid employment options.
