Popular Media to Grow Plants In Using Hydroponics

August 13th, 2009

When growing plants without soil, a person must be able to choose what media the plants will grow in.  There are many types of media to grow plants in with the hydroponics method.  For example, expanded clay is one type of media that is commonly used to grow plants in because of its capability to control and store the nutrient-filled water for the plants to grow in.  Another popular media is gravel, which, albeit heavy, is very easy to clean and use.  All a person needs to do is to set up a way to constantly run water through the gravel and the plants will grow.
