symptoms of ovarian cysts

February 25th, 2009

The diagnosis of ovarian cysts can be tricky from just symptoms alone since there are several infirmaties that all produce the same symptoms.  Don’t go by just symptoms alone to determine you have an ovarian cyst.  You should always get a pelvic exam by a physican in order to determine accurately if you have ovarian cysts.

The symptoms of ovarian cysts are varied and depend on the type of cyst and how it affects the patient.  Some women have virtually no pain and no symptoms, while others experience a lot of pain.  Generally the symptoms are:  lower back pain, increased pain as your period approaches, pain that runs down your thighs and abdominal pain.  This is not an exhaustive list.
