Thyroid Disorders In Teens

November 10th, 2008

No one expects teens to have to suffer diseases or disorders. However, the sad truth is that sometimes teens have these issues to deal with. Although thyroid disorders more commonly strike females who are age thirty five or older, they can strike teens. If your teenager is experiencing symptoms such as weight gain or loss, hair loss, dry skin, depression, nervousness, irritability or any other abnormal symptoms, make an appointment to see your child’s doctor immediately. The more quickly your child is diagnosed, the faster you can get him or her on the road to recovery, no matter if it is a thyroid related disorder or not.
