What is a squat rack?

There are various types of exercise equipments that you see in a gymnasium. One of them is a squat rack also known as power cage, power rack or squat cage. Squat rack is weight training equipment designed for safe workout on weight lifting and squatting. There is no restriction of movement while using a squat rack. A person can lift the barbell off the rack and move backward or forward and perform squat exercises. A power rack consists of four vertical posts and horizontal bar catchers which are adjustable. A squat rack can be used for number of exercises such as squats and over-head presses. You can also perform partial bench-press, partial squats and partial deadlift using a power rack.
