What to do if you find damaged patches
June 13th, 2008
Johnson & Johnson has announced that iit is voluntarily recalling all lots of its 25 micrograms of Duragesic. The recalled patches may have an opening which could result in the leakage of the fentanyl gel inside. Direct exposure to fentanyl can cause breathing problems and overdose which can be fatal. i What to do if you find damaged patches: they should be flushed down the toilet and not be handled. If your skin is exposed to the gel, wash the area thoroughly with water only. All the recalled patches have an expiration date on or before Dec 2009. It is estimated that two patches out of every million included in the recall have the defect that causes the leak. This is a very small percentage. If you or a loved one have experienced side effects related to this got to this website www.fentanylclaimcenter.org
