What’s In A Brand Name?

There are times in life that it matters what’s in a pill. This is particularly relevant when it’s an OTC medication or a brand name versus a generic substitute.
The cost of living is much higher these days. Fewer people have adequate health insurance and companies providing this insurance insist on generic forms of medications being used whenever possible. Fair enough ! For the most part, this has seemed safe to me. I have my doubts when it comes to over-the-counter sleeping aids such as the Equate Sleep Aid Liquidcaps.
It may be just a bad day on my computer, but….I couldn’t find out what the active ingredients were in the liquidcaps ! How hard can this be ? I did find an interesting set of e-mail correspondence having to do with the “quality” content of said sleeping aid and whether or not Wal-Mart stands behind this product (which happens to be made in China).
I would like to trust the process, the manufacturers and the companies involved in getting this and other products to market. I would like to but I don’t .
