If you are like most girls, there is a need to carry “stuff” or things with you. Sometimes for security reasons, sometimes out of necessity, and sometimes just because you can never be too prepared for anything that might come up. Pen, calculator, nail file and clipper, glasses, lip gloss, comb and/or brush, screwdriver (mini for eyeglasses) and of course the obvious like money and credit cards. There are not enough pockets in any attire that would be fashionable to hold all this “stuff”. Certain “stuff” only needs to be carried for certain occasions. For instance, if you are going swimming or will be doing outdoor activities handbags need to contain hair products and tools, sunscreen, make-up for touching ups, and possibly even a change of clothes. Leather bags may be more appropriate for this occasion. A quiet evening, such as dinner and a movie may only require lipstick, keys, tissues, and dental floss (especially if popcorn is included). For this, small leather handbags work nicely. In any event, a cell phone is almost always dropped into handbags and pockets are an essential. Nothing is more frustrating than frantically searching for a ringing phone. Not to mention, embarrassing if you have forgotten to silence it. A zippered compartment to keep valuables safe or unmentionables hidden is a benefit, however, not essential. Fashion is a wonderful thing and there are plenty of chic ways to carry things.
