How I improved the performance of my PC over night

I was struggling with a slow computer at home. It didn’t happen out of the blue it progressively got worse over time, so I decided I should see if there were any tests or diagnostics I could run on the machine myself before I took it into a repair shop. During my research I started reading about how the windows registry can become bogged down with older data and information. I wasn’t sure that this was my problem, but thought it was worth a shot to see if I could look into this on my own. It turns out there is registry cleaner software developed specifically for this purpose. It runs a complete scan on your windows registry to check for broken files, old data or errors that are listed. All this and I didn’t need to know a thing except how to use the software to run the scan. In less then an hour I had diagnosed my own PC troubles, downloaded the required software and cleaned out my registry.
