Mahe, Seychelles
November 6th, 2009
Mahe is the epicentre of Seychelles. Most people booking seychelles tropical vacations will find themselves on Mahe at some point or another. Being the largest island, the capital city of Victoria is home to about 80,000 people, still relatively small. The people there are lively and are known for their rich Creole culture. In addition, the natural world surrounding Mahe is unrivalled by anywhere else. A quick search for Mahe images on any search engine will bring up thousands of views of incredibly blue skies, white sands, high jagged mountains, and grassy hills. Be sure to pack comfortable hiking shoes, light clothing and a good hat, because there are many trails and roads waiting to be walked. Despite the small size, there are many types of accommodations and lodgings available for travellers, including grand, luxury hotels and smaller boarding houses. There’s no better way to enjoy an exotic vacation while still not breaking the bank.
